Happy Easter...and more progress!

Happy Easter everyone! I'm celebrating today with my mom who is visiting. I feel bad because we don't have any candy or fun Easter stuff around my apartment, but I am proud that I was strict about my healthy food choices. We made taco salads last night, with ground turkey seasoned meat. Today we are having ham, steamed broccoli and sweat potatoes. We did all of our grocery shopping yesterday and I think my mom was surprised how serious I was about just getting the stuff on my grocery list and avoiding the candy and Easter sales. I hope she isn't too disappointed about not having candy or jelly beans around, but I'm proud of how easy it was for me to keep up with the habits I've formed over the past few months.

And I couldn't wait to share this happy news with the community! I went back to the gym yesterday as well. A friend and I walked the track for 45 minutes. My back was a little sore after the walk, but it felt good to be in the gym again. I'm disappointed that it is closed today! But it felt good to be back and I talked to my trainer. I think I made the right decision to not get back in the gym too early, I'm feeling better each day and am pretty happy to be able to breath again.

Plus I was super nervous about weighing in after more than ten days, not really knowing how I was doing. But I walked into the gym and got on the scale and then just stared at the numbers. 264? What? I haven't seen those numbers together, in that order in a long time. I was pleasantly surprised! It felt good.
