Friday we grabbed the snowshoes and headed to Paradise to finally do Mazama Ridge.
The route starts out on a road that they don't plow in the winter then goes steeply UP. We were able to follow some tracks and found our way up to the "secret passage" through the trees onto the ridge. It's beautiful there. The views of the Tatoosh Range were neat but the usual amazing views of Mount Rainier were blocked by clouds even though it was mostly sunny.
I ended up with a nasty sunburn on my face. I'm sure it's because I had just finished taking Cipro for that UTI and still had it in my system.
Not many people at Paradise today/.
The little gap in the trees at the top is where we accessed the ridge behind.

Me on a little hill along the ridge and the Tatoosh Range

My sunburn=( It is keeping me from enjoying the perfect conditions that are at the mountains today.
