This morning I went for a 40-minute walk with my dogs. It was a shorter walk than usual because I was pet sitting my sister's chihuahua who came with us and therefore the limiting factor, if you will. I love little dogs but it made me that much more appreciate of my Weimaraners! Even though my Weimies are 8 and 10 years old, respectively, they can still walk for miles every day without getting overtired
I am hoping to get all my daily tasks done in a timely fashion so that I can take them out again for at least 20 minutes... I always try to provide them with a full hour's worth of exercise daily. Speaking of my tasks, here are the following goals.
1. 3 hours of "spring cleaning" -- dishes, laundry, sweeping and mopping floors, clean bathrooms and toilets, clean out closets and donate old clothes, organizing and clearing away cluttered sundry materials, clean patio, tidy up backyard
2. 1 hour at gym -- mainly weight training and at least 10 minutes of high-intensity cardio
3. 1 hour of research project
In other news I picked up a topical medication yesterday after seeing my dermatologist. The lastest adult acne flare up has mainly calmed down, but it's left behind significant post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIHP) along my lower cheeks and jawline. PIHP is basically the brown/red/purple marks leftover from acne lesions. Hopefullly, the topical medication will expedite the healing process of the marks since it's taken almost as long as a year (!!!) for the PIHP to fade on its own in the past for me. This, of course, means I will have to be extra vigilant to avoid sun exposure since my skin will be extra sensitive.
Can't wait until my April appointment with the doctor who specializes in treating PCOS! I like my dermatologist but sometimes seriously question his old-school, non-holistic approach to treating acne. For instance, he recommended that I take 100 mg of minocycline EVERY DAY of the year to keep my adult acne under control. Isn't that throwing the baby out with the bath water? Taking daily antibiotics would totally hinder a functional gut flora, which is essential for overall good health. Even supplementing my diet with probiotics would not be able to offset the daily ingestion of antibiotics. Not to mention acne is NOT a life threatening condition... one needs to mind the cost-benefit analysis.
Well, I hope everyone is enjoying the weekend so far :D And Happy (early) Easter! May the day revitalize your spirit and energy.
