I enjoy the Emerald City Wanderers' annual Easter walk. They always chose a route through some spectacular spring garden making the walk pure pleasure. Today's walk, at Weyerhaeuser Corporate Headquarters, was no exception.
The start point was under cover of a walkway that, typical of the Weyerhaeuser Corporate Headquarters, is covered with greenery.
Only steps into the walk, this guy was posing for a photo.
At 1k we entered the Pacific Rim Bonsai collection. I spent a while here enjoying the collection. This was not a day for speed walking.
From the Bonsai collection the route turned into the Rhododendron gardens. The Rhody's are just getting started and the garden was full of beautiful blooms.
After leaving the gardens, we get to the serious walking. I tried to pour on the speed because of how I'd dallied so far. The well marked route wound through trails and beside two lakes . This is a gorgeous campus. It is hard to believe it is located so close to major freeways.
Back at the finish point, a van has pulled up near the tables. Free ice cream sponsored by a local bank. Thanks Emerald city wanders for a great walk!
