Thank you all for the links and suggestions!
For Debbieanne: THe bleach baths were ordered by three specialists to kill bacteria on her skin. The way this disorder works is, her skin will clear up somewhat, but if she scratches it just once and introduces any bacteria into the dermis,(Second layer of skin) it sets up a systemic infection which her body cannot fight off, since her immune system is compromised.
It is only a half cup to a full tub and she soaks for ten to fifteen minutes. She then showers off the chlorinated water and immediately applies her creams, salves, etc to moisturizes while e her skin is moist.
I am extremely impressed at the level of knowledge, bedside manner and thoroughness of these medical professionals. I worked in every department except ICU and these people are a whole new level of doctors... even the residents seem to have the edge on making you feel heard, making you feel valuable, making you WANT to ask questions and not feel rushed. Nobody is condescending(I refuse to allow anybody to treat me that way) ..
Today we visited mom and I had a care conference with the director regarding mom not contributing to her ADL's,, which adds to the cost of her care to the tune of about $1,000 a month.. She is capable, but naturally blames the staff.. I am having her assessed for OT and let them determine if she can do it or what the next step is for her.
cable guy just left, I had crackling on my phone line,, all is okay,,, The whole day is gone now.. one more day off..
