International city at holiday time....

Saturday, March 30, 2013

It's great to be in International City of Lorain Ohio at holiday time. Yesterday it was to Fligner's Market on Broadway for Great Lakes smoked Meats. We got homemade Italian sausage, garlic sausage, Bratwurst, Chorizo, Kranskies
and stuffed cabbage. Their meat market Kelby had marvelous lamb, etc. And we got some Hot Cross Buns and nut rolls in the bakery.
Then today we went to Kiedrowski's Simply Delicious Bakery for Easter Paska bread, Polish sweet rolls, Paczki, and Snoogles (famous) and enjoyed the accordian music and a shared shot of vodka with owner and customers inside free. Shot of icing for the kiddies.
Holidays in an international city like Lorain are such fun. Happy Easter. emoticon emoticon emoticon

PS I did drop the baked goods off at our son's who will host 24 for Easter dinner tomorrow. Nice? of me.....self preservation to have it out of the house.

I miss the diversity of Ohio. Rural MN is all Scandinavian and nearby countries such as Belgium. The national dish is lefse and codfish preserved in lye then soaked and cooked some how. Lefske is good but bland but the fish is supposed to be pretty awful.
