I was beginning to wonder if I was going to make it to the 180s ever and now it is so close. I hope to reach it next week. So far I am down 7 pounds for the year. What a relief to find something that is working for me after a year of just not going anywhere.
My carb cycling is going great but I will say that as with any plan you need to find something that works for you. I have done a lot of work over the years on good nutrition and tracking my food so I was ready for this plan and it just made sense to me. I am finding that tracking my food before I eat it has been one of the most major steps I made. I tried planning for a week's menus and I used other people's menus and diet plans too and those worked for a week or so. All that trial and error was worth it, though, when I found what works for me is to not go to bed until my next day is planned out. If you are struggling to track or plan meals, try that.
Another help for me was to have the same two snacks every other day so on low carb day I have for my two snacks usually low sodium cottage cheese, salsa, and avocado and a protein drink. On my carb days I have plain greek yogurt, healthy granola and fresh fruit for sure for one snack. My other snack does vary but usually includes a boiled egg and toast or fruit.
On the exercise front, I am done with my visits with the personal trainer but have a plan to workout on my own. I do plan on hiring her, though, a few times a month to check in. Buying a gym membership within blocks of my house has been life changing. Although I used to exercise at home, I am liking actually leaving the house to work out so I don't put it off and helps with compartmentalizing. I really focus on the workout and the dog doesn't suddenly want to go outside etc.
