Hearing Robins!

Saturday, March 30, 2013

Last evening as the sun was going down, I could hear robins in my back yard.

And early this motning too.

Not the cheerful "chirrup chirrup chirrup" of happy robins sitting on a tree branch!

The irritable "ch ch ch ch ch ch" sound of robins in flight still seeing way too much snow! That "what the heck" sound. That "No worms yet" sound! That "What's for supper? sound.

Would some sliced oranges help? A few raspberries or strawberries?? Just let me know!!

Haven't seen any robins yet. But I'll be watching!

We actually have some robins that winter here. The bird song is my Mom's area is beautiful. Some of the first geese have arrived back and even some seagulls. We saw large balck feathers on the trail, so the owl is still around and made a snack of a crow, which we could also hear in the neighbourhood.
The bunny has thrown some dirt on his nice white coat, so spring must be really coming, the critters know for sure!

Ah love those sounds of Spring. I noticed Robins with the last two weeks... they must have been confused by all the snow on the ground. What I enjoyed the other day was seeing a lovely pair of cardinals gathering nesting material from my yard. Good thing we hadn't done our yard clean up yet.

Were the paths muddy for you and Charlie?

Not be long now before the Spring wins through and the robins are happier.

Our dog gets upset when anything gets into her backyard territory and has a distinct bark for squirrels, bird, cats, dogs, possums. When I clicked on the robin sounds, she was all confused and kept looking around the house for the source to chase.

Thank you so much for sharing birdjam!

I wish the weather would just stay warm and settle down. We don't have robbins yet either.

Happy Easter.

Cheeky robins! Yes, they are here, too... and I just love the morning birdsong that surrounds Spring mornings. The weather finally started to warm up again... it has been so weird this year: warm December and January, frigid March! So now... maybe it can get back to the good stuff. emoticon Happy Easter!

I'm not sure of oranges; but if the avoid it you would soon find out;, other fruit would be OK. I throw chicken scratch out daily for the quail & other birds and a bird feeder for sprigs. Din;t forget a bird bath - there is activity around mine all day, Earl emoticon
