Hiked Bonham State Park

The trail maps are NOT accurate. We are experienced hikers and we were frequently needing to re-orientate ourselves. They advertise 11 miles and we hiked 7 but couldn't tell you how much was back tracking. The trails were good just not marked well with signs. Additionally, we came across trails "A5", "A4" and "A3" - but you will not find them on the map.
We hiked primarily, "M1" and "M2" and also did the Lake Loop. The southern Loop, the one with an actual loop to it - is @ 1.25 miles total. We caught it by the one lane bridge.
Call the park headquarters before going cause they could have some trails closed.
Seems like some of you Sparkers are going soon - hope this helps.

    Glad you didn't get hopelessly lost. Had to Google the park, since I didn't know what state it was in. We hiked in Prince William Forest Park (Virginia) yesterday, and the maps were good. However, the effects of sequestration are already apparent, because the park is running low on supplies. At least the signage in the park is good.
