This week has flown by! I have been off all week for my daughter's Spring Break. This was the first time I have seen her in two years - since her sister's wedding! Her college is 8 hrs away and she just doesn't have enough time off or money to come see me (plus, there are other factors). So, we had a very productive week. We spent most of our time over at my older daughter's house (30 mins away) to paint her new photography studio space. It was a big job but we got it accomplished. To pay us back for our hard work, we got a photo session with all three of us together. That is so rare and special to have me and my two girls together and I am so honored that she thought to do a photo session. So, how does a photographer do a photo session when she is also in the photos? Well, she took our individual pictures while we waited for her hubby to get off work - then she directed (us and hubby) and he took the pictures. The ones I viewed looked great. I am excited to see more but it will probably be a while since she has other sessions to shoot this weekend.
Then my younger daughter got a sore throat so I made her a doctor appt and turns out she has MONO! She said she hasn't felt well for a while but just never takes the time to go to the doctor. Since there is no medicine to treat mono, she is told to rest and not do any strenuous activity due to her spleen being enlarged (and painful). She got a note from the doctor to be off school for two weeks so she is really relieved about that. She hardly goes to classes as it is (depression) and now she has an excuse (and the mono may be a contributing factor to the depression).
My eating has been right on target and I have been getting plenty of exercise just painting and cleaning. Now I have to switch my sleep schedule back because I have to work tonight (overnights).Life will get back to normal but it is bittersweet since my poor, sick baby is leaving today.
I did get to the gym just now and did a short workout and a few weights. I stretched and did some yoga poses to loosen everything up but I still feel tight in my hamstrings.
Another Sparker was asking about April goals and it got me to thinking because I haven't done any goal setting in a while. Well, besides the normal weight loss goals. April is the month of my first 5k, so that is one goal - to continue preparing for that. So here are my April goals:
* Plan meals ahead for at least 3 days of the week
* Raise the intensity of my workouts to get ready for 5K
* Blog once a week here on Sparkpeople
* drink a protein shake daily
Well, that is it for my goals. Now, what are yours? Has it been a while since you set any new goals? Go ahead and make a few now. Blog about it so we can cheer you on!
Now go spread your Spark and have a great weekend.
