I'm going to throw it out there now, this may get very long and rambling.
So first and foremost, I have a new motivation to work hard and make choices that help me reach my goals. Hubby and I are deep in the early part of the process of adoption. We have a few things we need to get working on such as creating the profile and getting the homestudy, but as soon as the profile is done, we get added to the list and could start hearing about potential situations right away. So, motivation to get the stuff done and also motivation to keep making healthy choices.
Some of those very healthy choices include things like going to bootcamp on Wed night and going to kickboxing tonight.
I mentioned last week that I have started on a few Herbalife products. I am not going to get all sales pitchy and suggest they are the best way to go. I did it because I needed to do SOMETHING to get back on track. This was a good way to start for now. A good friend is selling the products so it was also a great way to help her out. I did their quick start plan which is enough shake mix for 2 a day for a month. Right now it is a really easy way for me to be eating appropriate things at appropriate times. After this first month, I don't know if I will stick with 2 shakes a day, but they are pretty good and mix up better/easier than the protein powder I was getting from Target. So, that's a win I guess.
Today I had an acupuncture appointment. I haven't been in 2 months since my gal moved out of state. The new gal they have at the same place did a pretty decent job. She is different, but not in a bad way. I will go back and see her. We addressed the 4 concerns I had today which included knee pain/swelling, back pain, shoulder and hand tendonitis soreness and stiffness. I did feel better after. I know a lot of people discount the affects of acupuncture as being total placebo effect and all in your head, but really, is that bad if it makes a person feel better? I have continued to use my knee brace, avoid high impact like jumping on it and icing it, but I am hoping that we have a plan that can get it back to full ROM and no swelling. I also had cupping done for the first time. It was kind of weird. I didn't like it as much as when my prev gal would finish with some "muscle work" which was more like a relaxation massage of my back and shoulders, but it was ok.
I went and got fitted for new shoes. They looked at my stride and stuff and agreed a stability shoe for pronation would be a good idea. They had me try 4 different brands before I decided on the pair I got. I used them at kickboxing tonight, which is totally different movement than jogging and walking, but it did help. I am going to move my old work out shoes to be everyday shoes. I may look into getting a stability or support insert to help, as that may help me in my everyday life as well. Given the adoption situation, I don't want to go spend another $100 on shoes if I can do something else that will work. Adoption ain't cheap yo.
Alright, I'm off to get a few things done before bed, and to make good choices.
