Split Jerk...Where Have You Been All My CF Life?

There are breakthroughs...and then there are breakthroughs that end up being game changers. Tonight, I had one...a game changer!
What was it, you ask? The split jerk!
In previous posts, I have bemoaned all my missed lifts -- 80# clean & jerk (C&J), 75# snatch. I missed those lifts because I couldn't 'get under the bar'...I have an 'immature squat'...whatever that means. But tonight, I was introduced to the split jerk to help me get heavier weights over my head...and to compensate for my immature squat. ;-)
And it worked!
I successfully completed a 95# C&J!
Why didn't someone teach me this 2 months ago!?! Think about how much weight I could have been putting overhead by utilizing this new trick! I'm sick to my stomach just thinking about it. :-(
Now, I can go confidently into tomorrow's CF Games Open 13.4 workout knowing that I can at least put 3 points on the board from the 1st round of C&Js. ;-)
Since I don't have toes to bar (t2b)...yet, 3 may be all the points I get in the 7 minutes allotted for the WOD. :/
But hey...I learned a new skill...PR'd my C&J...and made it to the 200th place on the leaderboard.
What more can I ask?
