It's Good Friday evening, everyone! My family and I had a great day together. We slept in (til 7 -- sigh...), ate pancakes, cleaned up the house, had playdates, attended an amazing church service at 1:00 and answered LOTS of questions from the kiddos about crucifixion, went to a park to play in the sun, and finished off the day with a hard-core tae kwon do class. Now we're relaxing on the couch watching family TV in our pjs and sweats.
While everyone is winding down, I'm drinking a Diet Coke. I need a little caffeine since I'll be heading back to church at 11:00 tonight. My church has a prayer vigil that begins at 8:00 this evening until the 6:00 a.m. Easter sunrise service. The idea is that there is always someone in the church watching, waiting, and praying, just like at Jesus's tomb. I have never done this before, and I'm looking forward to a solitary hour with God. In the midst of the medical drama in my house, I have so much to be thankful for: healthy children, a fulfilling career, my husband's new job, fairly stable financial security, happy retired parents... oh, the list goes on.
And you, Spark Friends. You are a blessing, too. Thanks for your continued support!
