So I did something that I know I shouldn't have done.....it's only Day 2 and I stepped on the scale. Stupid, I know. But, I just couldn't help myself (I have compulsion issues like that, guess that's what led me to 190 lbs). Well, the good news is the scale read 187 tonight after dinner. I know that's not reflective of true weight loss, but it sure was the mental boost I needed after these first two days. The first few weeks are always the hardest for me, and I know I'll find myself on the scale more than I should be over this time period. It's ok though, I'll allow myself that indulgence.
As for the day, it went really well. I stuck to my meal plan from yesterday (swapped summer squash for baby zucchini for dinner tonight, I was in the mood to get a little crazy - ha). It was the kids last day of spring break, so I took them and a friend to the rec center to burn off a little steam. My plan was to walk on the track that goes around the gym while they played, but that didn't pan out. I ended up playing a mean game of Sharks and Minnows with a bunch of 7 and 8-year-olds. They kicked my butt, and I worked up quite a sweat. We played for about an hour, and it was a lot of fun. I hope it was a good memory for my kids, racing around the gym having fun with mom!
So Day 2 is almost in the books. Almost time for the kids to head to bed, then a little downtime with the hubby watching some basketball on the tube. Pretty exciting, I know.
