walking on the track

Today I finally got outside on the walking track. It was 3 degrees Celcius outside today. Not my favorite kind of weather. I am so wimpy with weather that I usually don't do anything outside unless it is at least 10 degrees. With that kind of attitude here, I will never get any workouts in besides yoga. It was not a bad walk today even with the cold. Since it's been over a month since I went for a walk or a jog, I took it easy. The walking track is just short of .5 mile but very close. I did 3 laps in about 1/2 an hour. Not bad. I was looking at my time last summer. I did better but I definitely did worse so I am happy. I didn't have the breathing troubles that I did last summer but it was probably the dust blowing around back then. I should have taken a picture of the track, but did not even think about it when I was there. There is all kinds of time for that.
It was good to listen to my music again. I usually listen to it in the car but because my player/charger broke, I've been listening to the car radio. The station here is the Giant. It is fairly similar to Hot 105.5 so I'm happy with that.
The snow is starting to disappear and it is a bit mucky but nothing like PEI. I am really happy to be missing this time of year on PEI, especially during practicum. I can get where I need to go with walkway stones and pavement in nice shoes. Last year, I had to leave the house in rubber boots and stop somewhere on the way to the school to change in to nice shoes because we are not paved. I definitely don't miss that. I do like the country, but at the same time. I like pavement.
You know you're 80's old school when you used to reserve a spot by lining up quarters on the top panel of a game while spending hours at the arcade. Pinball was the only game where I lines up quarters on the machine. I did like pinball. I really didn't hang around the arcade (if we had any). There was probably one at the mall but I really didn't hang around there either. I really didn't do well in groups. I got bored easily and would rather do something by myself. I remember band trips when we would go on the ferry to the mainland and we would hate to see businessmen go to the games, because they always had unlimited quarters and took the best games. The other time I played arcade games was when I toured North Carolina with David and Leslie. Most of my other teams would spend time either at a mall or walmart before meeting or contacts. The three of us would go to the arcade. I played Area 51 all the time because I liked shooting games and that seemed to be the best one.
