Goals for this challenge

I am no by any means doing well with this challenge so far! I feel horrible about it! I've just had so much going on and not getting enough sleep. But this next week I'm really going to bust my ass getting on track! So, here are my goals that I want to accomplish by the end of this challenge:

I want to get into a regular workout routine again.
I would like to lose at least 10 lbs.
I want to feel more confident about my appearance.
I want to get into a habit of meal planning and sticking with the plan.

I'm posting these inside my daily planner for motivation, and on my fridge, and in my bathroom by my scale.

    If you need any help with meal planning let me know, that is one thing that I have been doing really well with. It took me a few weeks to get into it. I go grocery shopping, cook all my meals, and divide it into portions in to-go containers all on the same day. This way I don't have to cook for the entire week! It keeps me in control of what I eat and how much I eat. I have tons of great meal ideas and I am always looking for more.

You have some very attainable goals. You can totally do it!

    There is an important psychological difference between using passive vs active sentences. What I mean is: rewrite your goals as:

I WILL follow a workout routine: x minutes per day/week of ...
I WILL lose...
I WILL be confident....
I WILL create and follow a meal plan....

The "I want to" approach builds in the idea of "but I might not make it" and that's the leak that can sink our ships!

The hardest one to quantify is your desire to be more confident of your looks. We can't usually change our self-image via force of will, so this needs to be broken down in some way. I found it helped to look at myself from a different perspective. For example, every morning before I left for work I would look at myself and say at least one positive thing: "My dress looks good today because it fits me so well." "My skin tone looks so great with this shade of blue." All day, then, I could imagine others thinking about me that way, too. By looking at my separate parts and learning to love them individually is slowing making me feel better about my whole package.
