Mother Nature HATES me!

Friday, March 29, 2013

So I'm laid up with my back. I'm trying so hard to be good and take it easy today. I go let the dogs out - it's 54 out there!!! I've been begging for spring for a month and it comes TODAY. This has better stick around!

I really don't have much to report, I'm keeping pressure off my back. I'm moving slowly. I told hubby I won't be going out or doing any housework today. I want my back healed. I'm hoping two days of being gentle and nice to myself will make a difference. As least I'm not having twinges of pain any more.

Sitting is still a bit uncomfortable but I can do it. Just trying not to.

So that is that! I'm hoping to walk tomorrow morning. I want to go watch the sun rise over the lake. Wish me luck.

Oh that stinks! Back pain is the worst since it affects everything you do. I sincerely feel for you, I've been there. You'll be up and about in no time, though! Take a hot bath in Epsom salt - the magnesium is great for relaxing muscles!

In times like this, there is wisdom in taking it slow.
Perhaps a therapeutic massage? or soak in the hot tub w/Epson Salts?
or just lying flat with a heating pad or ice pack??

I sure hope you're feeling better soon.

Yay! Spring might actually be here. I went out for a long walk with the dog this afternoon and didn't need my hat or gloves. Take care of yourself. Don't push too hard tomorrow morning. Do what feels comfortable.

Hope you are pain free soon! I know it sucks! May I suggest a cream called Pain Buster from Walgreen's? Pretty effective stuff. Take it easy and don't cause more damage my friend!

I'm glad you are feeling better but also glad you are not doing any housework! You could end up making it worse by doing even just a little bit of housework. Sorry to hear that the weather decided to be nice after you hurt your back. Take it real easy today and if anything you do hurts, DON'T DO IT!!! I hope you'll be feeling even better tomorrow! emoticon

Glad you are taking it easy. I certainly understand how painful it is. I ruptured a disc 2 years ago. (Approximately) The pain was crazy bad..couldn't sit, stand or lay down without severe pain. Thank God through shots and pain meds I was able to dodge surgery. BTW I suspect my crazy pulling pup was part of what caused it... emoticon

Oh, honey, I'm so sorry to hear that! I know you're feeling the cabin fever but emoticon take it easy on your activity for now. Really - try the ice or cold paks - it's amazing how they can take the fire out of the pain. Take it easy. You're not being a wimp. Back muscle injuries are still injuries, and you want to recover from it - you don't want it to get worse.

I want my Kitty well. emoticon emoticon Karen

I'm glad you are improving, but sorry you are having to do nothing at all today. That's so frustrating. I just hope that by tomorrow morning you are able to make your way to your sunrise.

So sorry woman. Did I miss something? Was there something specific you did to hurt your back? Be careful with the sitting though. If you can, try laying flat on a hard surface, like the floor. It's the best to correct issues causing the pain. Hoping your back heals fast though so you can enjoy this weather.
