Restaurant woes

Friday, March 29, 2013

We're back from 4 days of travelling with the DD and DGD. Trying to accommodate everyone's taste and preferences is tough. I stayed within my limits but did not always have as many choices as I would at home. My plastic baggies of veggies were a life saver. One afternoon I emptied a whole bag! Motel breakfast bars are getting much better - the very least had apples and bananas. Hampton Inns are doing a beautiful fruit salad and even had turkey sausage. One morning I had oatmeal (not out of a packet!) with raisins and almond slivers - very good.

What a wonderful idea it is to bring baggies of veggies! It is a great way to stick to your plan and you make sure that you get all 5 of your servings in!

So smart of you to take your veggies and healthy snacks and to make the wisest choices at the breakfast bar. Happy, healthy living to you!!

Yes, hotel breakfast bars are great! I also brought a bag of carrots with me and picked up another container of cherry tomatoes for snacking on in the hotel.
