Low on food

Thursday, March 28, 2013

I am low on food and have no money. I have some stuff to eat but not the right things... no fruit , no vegetables. So my nutrition will be off, but I am still keeping my calories down...

thanks for all your comments it helps to just know they're people out there that care! I know about the churches and food pantry's, and as you say it is mostly filling, fatty and sweet foods that are offered. I am diabetic so I usually just give the sweet stuff back or give it to my grandson. I would love to make soup, and store it flat in the freezer, but the food bank does not provide zip lock baggies and besides all it would have in it would be meat and noodles which I can eat as is and save on the gas bill used for cooking it up into a soup. I am already using the nutrition tracker that's how I know how many calories I have consumed and that my nutrition is lacking... I thank you all for the thoughts and trying to help in some way though. I was just venting my frustration when I made this blog. emoticon

I know exactly that same situation. I like FISHER011 suggestions as I do the same and it really does help in times like this. If you have a loval food pantry they may be able to help as will a church. My experience is though that they can provide the "filling" foods not so much the "healthy" foods.

Hang in there hon GOD does provide, have faith. You're in my prayers and thoughts.

Sorry to hear about your food situation. When that happens I make a pot of soup with what I have.
When you get food/money plan on making some healthy dishes and/or soups & freeze them in portion sizes. You can even make things & put in freezer ziplock bags & store flat. Then when things are tight you have healthy options.
Use the Nutrition tracker so you'll be able to keep track & you will be able to look back on your Calendar- In the Planner on your start page. Best wishes Debbie
