Hip Pain & 13.4

When I last posted, I was still super sore from 13.3's 150 wall balls. On Tuesday night, I finally felt almost back to normal. I was going to try to go to the gym at 6:30am on Wednesday. When I woke up, my hip felt a little weird, so I decided to go back to bed. When I woke up for real, my hip hurt A LOT. I wanted to cry as I hobbled from the parking garage to my first class. All I wanted to do was sit on my couch or lay in bed, but I had to be on campus from 9am-6:30pm (then ended up staying til 10pm for a concert). After my first class, I booked a sports massage with a massage therapist, but the first opening was on Friday morning. Over the course of the day, it gradually got better, but still felt tight. Literally 60 seconds with a tennis ball when I got home had it almost cured.
I feel almost 100% today. I have no idea what happened (I pulled something from walking funny for 3 days? Seems like a way I would get injured....ha), but I'm definitely taking it EASY for a little while. I did go in for the WOD today and scaled it way down
Transformers- 10 rounds for time:
2 cleans (Rx=163)
3 muscle ups
5 handstand push ups
I went pretty light and used 63# and did power cleans so I wouldn't have to do a full squat (normally I probably would've used 83#). I did 3:1 pull ups and parallel bar dips for the muscle ups with a thicker band then I'd normally use (90 pull ups and ring dips is A LOT). I did 2:1 hip slaps for HSPU.
I kept it slow and steady and ended up losing count of rounds, so I just kept going until some other people were done (18:33). I either did 9, 10, or 11 rounds....who knows. I don't really care. I've worked out so little in the past two weeks, I just wanted to do SOMETHING. Even though my hip feels fine now, I didn't want to risk injuring it.
After the WOD, I stayed for open gym to practice TTB and cheer on a friend doing 13.4. As for me, I'm really not sure if I'm going to try 13.4 at all. I didn't have much luck with TTB tonight, but my grip was kind of shot after doing 90 pull ups. Plus, I have trouble gripping the bar at that location in general because it is super fat. I'm going to give them another go tomorrow at my usual gym with the thinner bar I'm used to using. 95# is pretty heavy for me, so I'm not even sure how many times I could clean it. I really don't want to be stupid and hurt myself. It will really depend on how I feel. If I do end up giving it a shot, I will probably wait until Sunday morning because I will be at my in-law's on Saturday.
I'm still going in for that massage tomorrow morning. I can't wait!
