Why I Am Doing This

SparkCoach suggested blogging about my real reasons for my fitness and weight loss goals. This is pretty easy for me. I have been up and down in my weight so many times. This last time I had gotten in such bad physical shape that I didn't even feel like bending over to tie my shoes. During the winter especially my body ached all over and I got tired of not fitting well in the seats at concerts and stuff. I have family members and friends who can barely walk because of their weight. I am getting to an age where it is going to just get harder and harder to maintain good health and a healthy weight. I don't want to be one of those people who can't get around or who is pain all of the time because of weight related health issues. I want to be able to enjoy life and do the things that I enjoy, such as hiking, without huffing and puffing. I want to be able to bend over to clean the cats' litter boxes and to be able to go up the stairs at work without wondering if I can breath! Finally I reached a point where I said, "Let's Do This!" I put my plan in motion and I had a little help because of the surgery that I had on my stomach and esophagus, and here I am, on my way to better health! It is awesome. I feel better and look better and I can do these things again! I still have a long way to go to get to my goal weight, and then I will have a lifetime ahead of me in maintenance, but I am on my way!
