PRAYER COUNTS

Thursday, March 28, 2013

From Earlier Today:

I am currently sitting in our local hospital awaiting a report on my husband; however, I am so moved by the response from my pastor, I know the report will be fine. In just a minute, I will tell you why, but let me backtrack for a moment.

For the past two years, the pastor of my church has conducted a 6:00 am prayer call 6 days a week. We get scripture, a brief commentary and prayer and we have callers from all over the world. Like many saints, sometimes, I had become an ainít, and dropped out for a while and Lord know I always need prayer. However a moment ago, I came back (can we say prodigal daughter); a good sister friend whom I met at work, Ms. CC, and I frequently discuss some negative work situations and decided that we needed to pray and the next day, I got out of myself, woke up and called in. I also employed means to encourage my family (donít tell this), but when I wanted them on, I would have them use their cell phones too, cause I could not find mine, did not charge it, etc, etc. and for those who know me, that is the truth about me and the cell; half the time, I really donít know where it is and the other half it is not charged. We have a house phone, but a girl has to do what a girl needs to do and our lives have changed for the better.

This morningís prayer was especially moving to me, although the man, Rev. Seawright prayed, the Holy Spirit was present, a very special anointing rained down on us. He touched on all of you as he prayed ( for real, he covered you who are reading this and many more); It reminded me of the miracles that Jesus did, with the promise to all of us, from John 14: 12, ďVery truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father (NIV).

As I sit here awaiting the report, I feel the warmth, joy and presence of the Holy Spirit. Bro Floyd fell and we do not know if he has bruised his ribs or if they are broken, but what we do know is that Godís got him. Now superman (hubby) thinks he is going to be fine, and you know what they say about the power of thought, and with our belief in Godís will, we have touched and agreed. Join us for prayer any morning, or all mornings, without the prayer this morning, I may have gotten up in the flesh, been frighten, because my husband is never ill or even hurt!! Pray, remember to pray through it all.

Now about my Pastor: He is accessible, and when I sent him the text, he immediately responded ďIím praying and knowing him as I do, he did, he stopped right there and prayed. I needed that response right at that moment. If you are interested in the number for the prayer line, please send me an e-mail and I will share.

We are so very fortunate to have the privilege to go to God in prayer. One ministry I so enjoy is sharing the word of God in, while focusing on the power of prayer is the Prayer Shawl Ministry in northern Wisconsin and a Prayer Shawl/lap robe Ministry in southwestern Florida. God leads me many places in response to needs of my neighbor that run the gambit and the blessing in return flow with incredible grace and mercy. I live to bring to light the good news, "Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is Godís will for you in Christ Jesus." (1 Thes 5:16-18) I am grateful to an every loving, merciful, gracious, and compassion Lord for bringing you such peace today. You and your husband are one most fortunate couple! Awesome! To God be the glory! Hug, hug -- Evelyn
