Thinking about visuals...

Thursday, March 28, 2013

So, a gallon of water weighs about 8 pounds... that means I have lost 19.25 gallons worth of weight. Just picture 20 gallon jugs of water all lined up. I was going to try and find something that weighs 155 pounds and take a picture, but I couldn't find anything around the house that weighed that much. I thought about buying something, but that would be a little ridiculous. I don't have room in my fridge for 155 boxes of butter, and I don't need 3 bags of dog food. lol! So, no pictures today, sorry.

I am having a good day. Nothing exciting happening, just a nice, calm day. I was going to cook dinner for my neighbor, but she just stopped by and told me she's already eaten and not to bother. Of course I already defrosted the meat. Oh well, I guess I'll have leftovers for tomorrow.

Now I am planning on going to the gym tomorrow. I am NOT going to make excuses tomorrow. I am committing to going. It always makes me feel good. Rain or snow, it doesn't matter. It is only 1.5 miles round trip to walk there and back, so it doesn't matter if it is cold out either. I'm just gonna grit my teeth and go!

It's taking that first step that is the hardest. I know , if I can just get my shoes on, that it will all fall into place and those shoes look so far away and unbeckoning. This is where that determination thing comes in I guess. Hope you made it to the gym and had a great workout. If not, let go of it and make today the day you take that step.

Have someone take your picture at the gym next to 155 pounds of weights... that would be pretty cool!

I love visuals...I had found a list of weight loss equivalents a while ago and I posted it on the Wacky Walker thread, "Just for fun". The entire list is just too long to post here so I am starting at around the 90 pound loss:
90 pounds = a newborn calf
100 pounds = a 2 month old horse
111 pounds = red meat an average American eats in a year
117 pounds = an average fashion model (and she’s 5’11”)
118 pounds = the complete Encyclopedia Britannica
120 pounds = amount of trash you throw away in a month
130 pounds = a newborn giraffe
138 pounds = potatoes an average American eats in a year
140 pounds = refined sugar an average American eats in a year
144 pounds = an average adult woman (and she’s 5’4”)
150 pounds = the complete Oxford English Dictionary
187 pounds = an average adult man
200 pounds = 2 Bloodhounds
You have done well!

AWESOME about losing 150 pounds!! WooHoo! Amazing to think of it as 20 1-gallon water jugs! What a motivation -- to have a picture of them all lined up to look at whenever you feel like not working out or it you're tempted to eat too much!! Have a blessed and safe Resurrection Day! HE IS RISEN!!! :-)
