I went running yesterday. Completed W2C25K. Lulu and I both went. We covered 2.5miles. It felt so good to finish it - to not give up almost at the end. It was sloppy and wet outside. Still well below freezing. My feet and shoes were soaked by the time I got home.
But sometime last night I felt a tweak in my knee. I don't remember hurting it, but that doesn't mean anything. I'm still running with spikes on my shoes, and the spikes are not fititng very well. I was having trouble with my left shoe - it's my right knee that is aching. Just a bit, but still.
The plan is to not run today. Rest. I'll also sit with my leg up when I get home. Elevation. I have ice packs. I think I'll use one tonight. Ice. Now all I need to consider is compression. I don't think I'll worry about that too much. We'll see when I get home.
Things at work are changing.
On Tuesday, I was told by the boss to either take an unpaid leave on Monday, or show up at another office for work. I told him I'd show up at the other office. I am on salary, not hourly. Well, it lead to a big pissing contest. In the end, I'm getting Monday off with pay, and all my overtime has been cut. I've been working 3 hours a day overtime. Forced overtime almost. If I wanted to not work it, I had to fill out a time off request.
If you've been following my blogs, you know this boss has tried to short change me in the past. He's still pissy because I went over his head to HR to have it fixed.
What he doesn't know is I'm good with not working so much overtime. My health has been struggling. I can do SO much with those three hours a day. Today's plan - straight to the gym. I haven't been able to go, since I CAN'T stand the crouded gym, having to stand around and wait and wait and wait and... You get it.
Well, now I'll be back in town about 2:30/3. Plenty of time to go before it gets busy. I'll also be able to cook supper for hubby again. I just haven't been able to do any of that since this job and the overtime took over my life.
All that extra work, and for only abour $300/cheque! I don't think so. I'll go back to the way it was.
I am just wondering what the boss will think when he tried to force overtime on to me again in a few months, and I simply refuse.
Anyhow, I hope you all have a wonderful Easter Weekend.
