im so proud of my hubby!

Thursday, March 28, 2013

Well my husband is now (in 2 weeks really) working for the Greek yogurt factory Chobani! If any of you've ever heard of the chain, they're only a hop, skip and jump away from our house. He has been working religiously at a local dairy as a night milker since 2000 when they established themselves after selling their land in Oneida to the Oneida Indians to build Turningstone Resort and Casino. The dairy is up to milking 2750 head of cows every shift, 3 times a day. So as you can imagine, its a very large farm. They ship 1 or 2 loads of milk a day to Chobani's to make the yogurt you buy on the shelves. So one hand washes the other and trickles down I suppose. But I'm soooo happy for the change in job. He's going for training on Tuesday and then hand in his 2 week notice to the dairy. Chobani's offers health insurance where the dairy doesn't also he will work 3 days one week and 4 the next doing a 12 hr shift, working overnights as he's been used to. Soooo lots of changes in the next 2 weeks are happening. I'm not a big one for change, but gotta get out of my comfort zone as well. Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Chobani makes the best Greek yogurt!

All the others are pretenders.

Pricey, though.

I lost 110 lbs with Chobani as my only treat, every day for 80 weeks. (I've since branched out to a few more possibilities.)

MDW, Beth, is even a bigger fan, she will not eat any other brand of yogurt.

Chobani is such a big deal at our house that we changed supermarkets to the one that (a) offers the lowest price on Chobani, (b) has the most varieties, and (c) carries the largest inventory.

Wish you and YDH the best of luck with them.

Congratulations to your husband's new job. My husband has worked all types of shift work over the years. Rotating 3 shifts, 7 days with a long change, 4 on 3 off, all days, all evenings, all nights. You name it he has worked it at one time or another. Having insurance and benefits are important now a days. It's all in the attitude. If "YOU" have a good attitude about it, then your husband CAN have a good attitude. You learn how to live life a little different than the typical 9 to 5 worker...but hey, that's life. I should know, I have done it for the last 28 years.

Best wishes to your family,
Shelley emoticon
