SW Respiratory Infection

Thursday, March 28, 2013

Just heard on the radio that there's a bug that has been primarily on the increase in the SW area of the U.S. (where I am) causing a significant increase in the numbers of respiratory infections. It's air born and virulant. One baseball player talked about how he's recently had this and it took months to recover.

Interesting since I dealt with this almost all month and others have shared their experiences on how long it took for their body to return to normal.

Wishing all a Happy Easter or Happy Passover.

Yikes! I live in the Southwest, too. I guess I'll have to be extra vigilant in washing my hands and using those sanitizing wipes on communal objects, such as grocery carts and the like...

Thanks for the tip :)

According to my doctor this is the worst winter in years for viruses, flu, bacterial infections. They were swamped here and calling it an epidemic.

Wow! I hope you don't get it. When I used to live in New Mexico, the area was known for those kinds of problems and I was lucky that nothing ever happened to me. I hope you continue to heal. Love, Chelsea emoticon emoticon

Could be both - remember that you guys live by all the ports with incoming travelers, really, - who really knows what showing up on our shores? Look at all of the people who get sick on Cruise Ships emoticon either way after this last bit of flu that I had , I am sticking with wipes on the grocery carts. Like I said I have not been sick in a year like yourself but the week prior to being ill. I was in my Physicians Office for my Annual Blood Work, I could have easily picked something up there , I thought that you had mentioned prior that you were in and out of the ER for various reasons so you could have been exposed to something- I cannot help but still think about what might be coming a shore after the quake in Japan - the Nuclear Plant ? Just a thought - Hugs Karen - Have a very Happy Easter or Passover also !! emoticon

Is it still going around?
Is anything being done or studied?
