Silly Sadistic Computer.

Thursday, March 28, 2013

Ha! The great Spark People computer has finally said officially that I need more calories to survive!

After YEARS of saying that I need to eat between 1200-1550, it now suddenly thinks I need 1,280-1,630! I had adjusted EVERYTHING repeatedly, and it's never told me I need more than 1550. People told me it was because my goals were "too aggressive." Pish posh!

I've suspected that I needed more for quite a while now. Already I had started allowing myself to go into the 1600's without freaking out about it....AND I was still losing weight.

Well, I feel better now, knowing that the great SP computer isn't totally sadistic and out to get me. (Yes, I took it personally. I'm crazy like that.)

Ha! Yes, this was totally a 2001 moment! The great SP computer does seem to have a surprising amount of power over me. We definitely have an adversarial relationship.

This kinda reminds me of when the ship (machine) controls man in Kubrick's 2001 Space Odyssey. "Open the pod bay doors!"

Do not let the Spark computer app control your life or eating. If it helps you, great. If it's a hindrance, move on. We, the Spark Humans, have the power. Down with the machines!

Eat well (in moderation) and be merry!

Yowza! Enjoy the whopping 80 calories! You're so close to your goal weight, though, that you can look forward to your maintenance phase caloric range =)

Thanks MIDNIGHTER1! Sometimes it's difficult to remember that computers are just computers and they don't know EVERYTHING. It's funny how much of a difference 80 calories a day can make!

Enjoy the extra calories! I go out of my calorie range at least once or twice a week, but as long as it was from healthy foods and I'm still being active, I don't fret!
