Day #461: April Goals

Thursday, March 28, 2013

Hey everyone, I haven’t been the most active in the last 13 days but this is me making an effort to stay better! I am going to focus on spark streaks to keep me on here more and to keep me accountable for everything that I am doing. I’ve also been thinking a lot, and I really am not at all comfortable about my body anymore. Looking at old pictures I’m like damn where did that girl go. I mean I have never really been all that small, but I haven’t been this big either. It’s the worst, and I am going to do something about it the month. This month I am going to focus a lot of my attention on vitality. Coach Lauren gave me a ton of useful information that I no longer utilize. The vitality challenges may be over but that does not mean that I can’t use the information she gave me to improve upon myself. First of all, in the beginning of April I am going to go back through Vitality and even do the prompts that went along with the challenge. I am also going to use Lauren’s system for goal setting! That means that I am going to set goals under 3 categories, self-love, nutrition, and fitness.

Goals for the month of April:
Self-Love: Wake up every morning and the same time and eat breakfast (don’t press the snooze button)
Nutrition: Do not drink soda of any type, and cut out fried foods especially French fries
Fitness: Go to the gym 3x per week or do zumba

Many would consider my self-love goal to be more of a nutrition goal than anything else. However, being a college student I absolutely hate waking up in the morning for classes, and half of the time I press the snooze button until there is only 30 minutes until I have to be in class so I have to rush to get ready and I never have time for a nutritious breakfast or breakfast of any kind for that matter. So my goal is going to be to wake up at the same time every day at about 7:15 am and to get a healthy breakfast every day without hitting the snooze button!

My nutrition goal may seem unrealistic to some people, but it will be a huge help to me, and even if I don’t cut them out forever it will help me for now. I eat a ton of fried foods at school, but mostly it is French fries that I eat sometimes twice a day and sometimes I have 2 hash browns for breakfast and a doughnut. All of that fried food really isn’t at all good for me so I am going to cut it out for the month. I am also going to cut out soda for several reasons. First of all, even diet soda makes you crave more soda, and soda makes you bloat and feel gross.

Finally, my fitness goal is to go to the gym 3x per week. I know that that does not sound like much, but my main goal right now is to focus on my eating, since my “love” for food is why I am the way that I am now.

Along with these things I also plan to log what I eat and write it all out, and I also hope to do a water detox at the beginning of the month. I am not going to set a weight goal, but hopefully I will lose some. My main goal is to fit in my jeans without feeling gross and like I am hanging out of them! I refuse to get a bigger pair of jeans, I have just got to lose this weight so that I will feel better about myself!

I hope that everyone is doing well!

I don't think your goals are unrealistic at all. You know what your challenges are and you are planning ways to overcome them. You can do this!

    Great goals!
I cut out soda completely too awhile ago.I hate artificial sweetners cause they are so bad for you, so diet isn't an option for me either.
Once you get over the initial first couple weeks you don't really want anything but water. Plus youre saving 150 cals per can. That adds up fast if you are drinking a lot of them a day....
