Mammogram today

Thursday, March 28, 2013

The title says it all. I'm practicing saying "Ouch!" so I'm ready when the tech says "Just I little tighter, dear." I don't really mind. One of my aunt's died of full blown breast cancer. I'd rather not go that way. I had a nice hour's walk yesterday, but last night my legs ached a bit from all the aerobics and strength training I've been doing so I may just stick to aerobics today. Besides, if it's nice outside I have a lot of spring yard work to get to. That'll burn some calories.

Congratulations for taking good care of yourself in this important way. A little discomfort is worth it in the long run. A dear friend's breast cancer was recently discovered this way, in a very early and treatable stage. Pamper yourself, you deserve a special reward!

Best wishes for an uneventful mammogram. They are a small price to pay for a little assurance.

Mammograms are never fun. Can't they figure out another way to do this test without flattening your breasts?
