The Playground

Thursday, March 28, 2013

I mentioned in my last post that I am calling the gym aka Planet Fitness, "The Playground"

As I kid, I really didn't love the playground. I liked swings. And the twirly thing you sat on and someone would spin you until you couldn't take it any more. And I liked the tall slides that I could go and sit at the very top of with a book.

Seeing a trend? I liked the playground toys that I was able to basically sit still on.

And I wonder why I have a problem with my "Happily Ever After Weight Gain" (how I refer to the weight I've gained since being happily married.)

Well, I have not sat once since going to my big-kid playground. I am really loving it! If you are on the fence about joining Planet Fitness, just do it. It is not intimidating at all. Clean, nice staff, pleasant "playmates"... I really don't know why I waited so long to join. I guess the timing was just right finally!

So far I am just playing on the treadmill for 45min, each day bumping up the level until I find "the one." I am doing the weight loss program. Today was Level 3. I'm looking at you, Level 4! Prepare to be rocked tomorrow morning!

It is funny just how much more fun it is to say I am "off to the playground" in the morning. "Gym" sounds intense someone. "Work Out" sounds... sort of like math ('work out this problem', ugh, not a math girl...) but "Going to the Playground" is fun!

And I love to have fun!!!!

Anyone else find that just thinking about something differently can give you such a fresh outlook that things suddenly work?
