Not that I have much to lose but I am still thrilled with the continual progress I am seeing. I was down another 0.2# this morning on the scale. Had a good easy long jog on the TM last night too (40 minutes).

I am working on training for my 10K late this year, as I have mentioned before. I decided to start out with the training program at the beginner level, and though I have been running for a good while, I really want to build the stamina and speed both. It's been both strange and refreshing to step back to a slower pace of working out and seeing/feeling it start building over time. I am sure this training will also serve me well on my 5K here in a couple of weeks.

I have decided that if I beat my previous 5K time of 31:08, I will buy myself a cute new running outfit. If I run a sub-30, well, I don't know what I will do.

I am also trying to mentally prepare for my week of vacation in Seattle. I don't want to blow the progress I have worked so hard for over the last few weeks. It's only like 3#, but they are MY lost pounds and I don't want to welcome them back for any reason, even vacation. We are going to try some doughnut shops, but I will eat a lot of freggies to balance them out. I will stay on track. I am sure we will do tons of walking, but we will see overall how it goes.

emoticon Got out for a short run this evening and did 2.54 miles in 27.:04, running 2 miles straight in 18:05. Apparently the training on the treadmill emoticon that I have been doing is starting to show its effectiveness. That 2 mile time is 0:44 seconds faster than my APFT on a relatively flat track (no more than 2% grade allowed) just a couple of weeks ago. emoticon

    You are making great progress, and I'm betting on you to beat your 5K time. Enjoy your time in Seattle, but I think that Seattle is known for coffee more than doughnuts! Or...you're thinking coffee AND doughnuts! Have fun!

    Sounds like some worthwhile motivation to set a new personal best. Hope you break 30 minutes so you will have to figure out what to do.
