Thought and Prayer for Thursday, March 28, 2013

We have many cravings in life. However, we probably only really associate cravings with food. But anything we desire so badly that we just have to do it could be considered a craving. When we have strong desires to do something, we have to be careful not to give in to those desires. When our strong desires involve spending money, we may have to seek help and guidance so we won’t make a wrong decision. Our financial situation is based on the decisions we make about money. Are you struggling financially today because of your decisions based on your craving for money?
1 Timothy 6:9-10 “But people who long to be rich fall into temptation and are trapped by many foolish and harmful desires that plunge them into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. And some people, craving money, have wandered from the true faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows.” (NLT)
Dear Lord, please take away our cravings for any earthly things. Help us not to fall into the temptations and traps that will lead to ruin and destruction. Help us not to crave money that will lead us from our true faith in You. We know that craving the things of the world will only lead us to sorrow. Please fill us today with all that You are so that our cravings will only be to read Your word and follow Your commands. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
We need to have a plan for when we begin to crave for what we don’t really need.
Craving the things of the world will lead to destruction.
Our financial situation is based on the decisions we make about money.

1 John 2:16 “For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world.” (NLT)
1 John 2:17 “And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever.” (NLT)
