Emotional Eating Triggers - Naming the Emotion

Wednesday, March 27, 2013

Today's Sparkcoach lesson has me thinking about my emotional eating triggers

The common emotions that trigger eating for me are: stress and boredom

Today's lesson was talking about the fact that eating when you feel emotional is a choice. This choice becomes habit.

I can choose to make a different choice. I can choose to break the pattern. I can choose to control my emotions, rather than letting my emotions control me and lead me to the fridge.

Now that I am able to name the problem, will be spending some time thinking of ways to break this unhelpful habit.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Maybe I should give that Spark coach another chance...

Great realization. When I am stressed, I will take a ten minute walk, correcting my posture repeatedly, so my body is in proper alignment (which is somewhat of a challenge sometimes, but releases the stress your body holds) and when I am bored, I either spark or I write in my journal... sometimes starting with the sentence.... "I am here to avoid eating, so lets do some work here"

good luck
