Yesterday's frustrations with all things medical faded into the background last night, replaced by a highly unusual sense of excitement about two things I'd discovered about myself by accident.

Firstly, thanks to browsing amongst the huge amount of suggestions, information, advice, and videos available on the SP site, I came across a video for a 9 minute seated workout by Coach Nicole. No real idea of how it could be possible to exercise while remaining seated, so checked it out. I could do that! Not only could, but I did! Before bed last night I'd done another 11 minute seated workout as well, with no ill effects! I am completely hooked, and determined to do at least a few each week, specially when my lower joints are acting up too much to walk far.

Next, I read SUNPANTHER's blog about her April challenge - portion sizes. It was as if she was describing my eating patterns, offering a solution to ending my constant overeating. I decided to follow her example and choose a suitably sized plate and two bowls from which to eat all meals. I decided on an entree plate for meals in which items are best served apart, rather than combined. Next, for casseroles, stir fries, curries, etc. I chose a medium sized deep bowl, followed by a smaller dessert bowl for cereals, fruit, yoghurt, etc. So simple, and so obvious once it was there staring me in the face - I know each one will contain 'enough' to fill me and satisfy my needs... but no more. Time I limited myself to 'enough', way, way past time.

    there are a few of these videos on Sparks. A lot of exercises that you do standing you can sit down and do them.

    It sounds like you have a great plan!!!!!! (And try chair dancing - really, just put on some music you like, move your feet, wave your arms, even wiggle your tush! Great way to begin some fun exercise!)
