I just realized today that I have become a been there done that person when it comes to work. After 48 years in the workforce I've gone full circle. So I'm sitting in a meeting today and one of my young co-workers (in her 20's) started talking about 2 major projects she is working on. So new so fresh, to her, and yet ideas that were around at least twice in the last 25 years. I encouraged her - I praised her - and meant it! These projects will be effective and she will do a great job of them. My problem is... been there done that.

I'm glad I'm in the last year of work because I miss the excitement of getting fully invested in a work program. I love my clients and love working one-on-one with them and I truly will miss them but I won't miss programs and endless meetings about what we can do.

What does get me excited is looking at new crafts and photo techniques. Can't wait to have more time for that.

You deserve retirement and will enjoy it. There will be opportunities for you but you can choose what you desire to do that makes you happy.

It's so good that you were able to hold your tongue, not burst her bubble, and that you gave her the encouragement that she needed.

It's so neat to be able to look forward to retirement...or just taking it a little easier. You've done your time and something new and exciting is waiting. So neat!

Awesome. I'm always looking for a new way to connect with my clients. At least that hasn't changed.

Yes to crafts....

I love crafts too and scrapbooking. I feel the same way when I teach my kindergartners the same units every year. That is why I'm glad I do pinterest and can get new ideas to try with the kids.
