Weeellll.....

I can honestly say that I thought I'd be, if not at my goal weight, at least substantially lighter by now! Because in fact, I HAVE NOT STOPPED BEING ON WEIGHT WATCHERS ALL THIS TIME. Have I lapsed? Yes. After the Newtown tragedy, which happens to be the town next door, Christmas was more difficult than ever to get through. To fight through the sadness I made DOZENS of cookies, most of which were donated to the Healing Center for Newtown, but there were PLENTY left over. Somehow, baking and eating seemed to equal "I feel better." Duuuh.....
But hey, that's past, and I'm still 10lbs over what I was the last time I posted here. Sigh. I know I need to change something. I decided to start today by joining the 8 cups of water per day challenge. I'm pretty sure that will make a good start. I'm already exercising, and I'm always counting WW points. But I'm guessing that my age (I hit the big 6-0 this year!) is also working against me at this point. I am here to change things once again if I can. Thanks, anyone reading this, for your support. :) emoticon

    It is OK. These things happen, and you are still on track, one way or the other. The fact that you posted, even though you gained weight, bodes well for you.

    Hi!! Christmas cookies are tough to stay away from anyway, but yes of course the tragedy right next door changed our lives forever. I totally understand the eating for comfort issue.
Many swear by the eight cups of water per day, so you're off to a good start!! emoticon emoticon

    The option to stop counting points or calories would mean that I would immediately gain back a huge amount of weight. We can only keep trying. I know from experience that it is very difficult to get back on the diet wagon once I have fallen off! Right now everything is going well although very slowly.

    It does not seem to get easier, but starting with one change - like the 8 glasses of water a day challenge might help shake things up. I'm sure the Newton tragedy took a toll being one town over, it had an impact on everyone across the country far and wide. But it is good that you are back, keep drinking water, keep counting points and keep moving!
