Day 43 of Easter challenge - Want versus Need?

And start of week 2 day of of 28 day bootcamp

Tonight is lap swimming planned and I hope to get in 45 min.

I keep think of a clip I saw on Financial guru Suzy Orman - and she kept repeating Want verus Need when it came to buying something. Always ask the question is this something I want or I need. If I need it figure out how to buy it. If I want it then check have I met my savings criteria - if not put it off until I have that banked.

How is that different then weight loss. Do I want or need to eat these calories?
If I need it - basic requirements for a healthy diet then its a no brainer. If I want it, will eating that put me outside my nutritional goals for the day? If so how about a bite? If so, then put it off until I plan my calories better.

The SP coach recommendation was if you have a sedentary job - try adding an extra squat every time you have to stand / sit. And give yourself a reminder to get up every hour. I don't do that - I can easily get lost in work so I'm going to try to incorporate both of those into my program.

Total lost 15 pounds - which I am happy with but makes me want to kick start April a bit more.

Measurements 4.25 inches down (Bust, waist and hips are the biggies but even some on my thighs and knees)

    I like this blog because it is something that I need to say to myself about other important things and not just food. In a world where people just "click" to get a lot of things, it is important to remember that just because it is accessible, doesn't mean we need to get it. emoticon Love, Chelsea emoticon

    We learned a word last week ...hedonic....I think it's based on hedonism...but it describes the appetite that cannot be satiated...even when the body is too full to accept more. It goes for other lifestyle areas as well. There really is a difference between what we really need, what we think we need and what we want! Keep Sparkin'!!!

    Yahoo, you! That's great. And I like your attitude about want and need. I definitely wouldn't have so dang much to move this week if I had only bought things I needed, lol! Same is true for putting things in my mouth. Food for thought! Thanks.
