Today's spark coach visualization: "Today, visualize going in for a checkup at the doctor and receiving a completely clean bill of health. How does it feel to know you did all the right things to live your best life? What can you do today to get one step closer to your healthiest self?"
Well, I've been visualizing myself as pulling back from the brink here... because I know I was close to getting heavy enough to cause serious illness. I've retreated 5 lbs and several fitness workouts from that brink. I envision that day with Dr. Kaplan smiling approvingly at me, telling me he is glad that I made the decision so he didn't have to see me go down that road of type 2 diabetes and all that follows.
Getting there... today's step... will be going home and having a healthy meal liked steamed chicken while everyone else has real chinese food. LOL.
Its been a few days since I blogged. Weekends and days that I work from home are my downfall. not because i eat terribly, but because I FAIL to eat regularly. I get caught up in things and just forget about it. I pushed myself to get in decent food these past few days, and I did manage that, but keeping up with sparkpeople kind of got set aside. I'm caught up again now though.
I didn't end up exercising on Monday - the trainer canceled as I expected due to the snow, and then The Voice snagged me. Next week, if I'm home and watching it on time, I think I'll go downstairs on the treadmill and walk while I watch it in the basement. I may even ask Tony to set up the Tivo downstairs to record that. No, scratch that. Not MAY. Will. If the tivo works down there (which i think its still hooked up?), I'll make sure he does it.
We did work out with Eric last night though. He worked lower body this time. Zowie. My legs and abs are feeling it today. We're not due to meet again until Friday, but I think I'll drag Sam over for either yoga or tahitian cardio or some other video thing tomorrow night. I want to try to keep to my prior schedule of working out M, T, Th, Fr, Sat and skipping Wed/Sunday. That means i'm working out 5 days a week. Not too shabby.. for ME especially.
