Week 2 update

Well I was officially 2 weeks out from surgery yesterday. I am feeling pretty darn great physically. My incisions are all healed up. But man do they ITCH! I have been walking everyday since surgery. I am NOT getting enough protein in though because I canNOT stand the protein shakes. They make me gag. I am trying to figure out what to do about that. I am getting in enough water.

As of yesterday I was down a total of 35lbs. (16 of that post op).

Emotionally I am having ups and downs. (to be expected) Most of the hard stuff right now has to do with friendships treating me differently but I'm handling it ok. Life goes on. I actually have been turning to walking when my emotions are intense so that is a good change from pre surgery stress/emotional eating.

I received a very nice butterfly necklace from my mom and dad. On the back it reads "Just when the caterpillar thought the world was over, She became a butterfly."

I thought that was sweet. Here are the pics of the front and back.

    Sounds like you are handling the emotional stuff so well!! emoticon

One of my close friends had gastric bypass as well and she mentioned feeling like friends acted weird around her as well. So happy you're not letting any of that get to you!

Also, super sweet of your parents to get the necklace :) I LOVE butterflies!

    I am glad you are feeling so well!

They will continue to itch! I found that putting some ice on them helped stop the itching.

I am sorry about the friend thing. It is a bummer for sure. It will work itself out.

I love the necklace!

You are doing such a fantastic job!

As far as getting protein in... have you thought about trying the flavorless powders? You can mix them in anything.

I love it!
Good for you to figure out what to do about emotions instead of eating them. I am still battling that myself.
As long as you get the water you need, you can work on the protein as you go along? (But rather ask CINDY or someone else who know more than me.)
You are doing wonderfully!!

    emoticon emoticon I have the same problem with not getting enough protein, i dont like the shakes either. I've been eating a lot of chicken, eggs, cottage cheese and milk. I was never really much for chicken but i'm starting to like it.
Sorry that your having emotional stress, that can be really challenging especially when trying to lose weight. Keep you chin up and try to stay positive.
That was very nice of your mom and dad. The necklace is very beautiful.
