a little mourning with weight loss

Wednesday, March 27, 2013

I've toned up and lost some weight in the past half year. People are starting to notice, and my clothes are feeling baggy. I don't want to sabotage my success by re-gaining the weight...I feel great! But I can't help but be a bit sad when some of my favourite clothes are now so baggy that they look bad.

Of course I know this is an excellent indicator of my hard work, and permission to buy some new clothes that flatter my new figure! Woo! But it's still a bit sad.

I'm not at my goal yet but I feel great and I'm finally on the right track!

Nowadays most of my clothes are really worn and I will not mourn them - but I do understand the feeling. There has been clothes in my life that I really loved but they could not last forever - what I regret today is that I did not save them to make a rug or something from them... CONGRATULATIONS on the result of your hard work!

I know exactly what you mean! I'm not a big fan of shopping for clothes and now need to get some more. I wish all of my clothes would just magically shrink to fit. Like you said though, I really should be pleased about it.

Thanks for your kind words! It's a weird thing to feel bad about, but I feel it especially today in this dress that used to be so cute but is now quite unflattering.

It seems like a weird thing to feel bad about doesn't it? I'm right there with you, though. I looked so good in these clothes a month ago!

And then I get upset in the other direction because even though the clothes are baggy almost everywhere, they're not quite so loose right at the waistband and I that bothers/concerns me. It's not possible to win.

Some people have scale issues; I have clothes issues.
