A Woman with a Plan

Alright, 8 days now I have been doing things right. That is the best I've done since back in September. That's right I haven't been able to string 8 healthy days together in 6 months. That is crazy. But I'm feeling it right now and I plan to milk it for as long as I can.
Back in September and into October, I was running a lot. For me, running and healthy eating go hand in hand. I eat healthy and want to be smaller so that I can run better. But then, cold weather and holidays got me off my game and I couldn't get back. Until now.
I always loved training for races, if for no other reason than there was a plan laid out for me. Run this far on this day. I like having someone else make the decisions on these things. However, I don't really feel like I am in a good place for training for races right now. I am out of shape and out of training. My goal would just be finishing and that is a great goal but it isn't particularly motivating to me. So I found another kind of plan.
I just signed up for an 8 week running for weight loss plan on Runkeeper (it's free). I love having a plan. Someone else telling me when to run and how long to achieve the goal I want to achieve- weight loss. It has the added benefit of conditioning so that when I complete it, I can start thinking about training for a race. In the back of my mind I have the Baltimore Half in October- but I may be getting ahead of myself. I haven't run a half since 2008- when I ran my fastest ever half.
One step at a time. Running for weight loss for now.
