Ch 10, Day 53

It was so nice out yesterday, I took grand baby for an afternoon stroller walk. I was so tired I had to force myself to get through the 1.7 mile walk. Seems I am still recovering from that pesky virus....other than that, I have no explanation.

DH is still sick from the virus, and very slowly recovering.

I did something really bad yesterday. I bought and ate some fish sticks, smothered with ketchup. I haven't had them since I was a kid, and I always loved them. What I noticed was that the fish sticks had very little fish in them, and were mostly "fried" breadcrumb. Is this a commentary on how a lots of people are eating these days? This is just bad form.

DAY'S POSITIVES
With no client deadlines pressing in, I'm about to head out the door for an early morning walk.
My first crocus is in bloom....it's a cheerful yellow. It won't be long now for the others...

DAY'S PLANS
Off for my walk before 7a.
Eat healthy today...really, I must become totally consistent with this, in preparation for April, when I plan to have my mojo working in full force (when healthful eating comes together with fitness)
Sit grandbaby.
Reluctantly....I will get some client work done while grandbaby naps today.

UPDATE
Got a 3.1 mile walk in, fairly easily. Yesterday's tiredness must've been from adding 25# of baby in the stroller. I am set for the day with my fitness goal....just need to work through the healthy foods plan.

    I just got over my bug and it took a week. I am finally over it (I think), but I am still exhausted and my eyes still feel tired. I will say a prayer that your DH get well soon and one that you do not get what he has. Those fish sticks are the result of greedy corporations, when we were children, they had more fish than batter. I make homemade fish sticks for my children. Gordons battered fish has also went downhill on quality.

    Yay! for being able to get out for a walk. Finally Spring flowers.
I agree with your friend, I use to eat fishsticks when I was young and they did have fish in them.

    Glad you were able to get out and enjoy the weather. Fresh air is so good for the body. I used to like fish sticks also but they are not making them the same now. emoticon

    Very inspiring and I am glad you are feeling better, hope your husband begins to rebound quickly also. You have a busy schedule but you're walks before the "day" really starts is a great way to begin the day. Congratulations on the length of the walk.

    Too bad about the fish sticks. I used to buy some kind of packaged fish like that when I was in my 20's but not often. After that I didn't eat fish for a while because I didn't live near any large masses of water, so was it fresh? Who knew?
When I moved to Quebec I started eating Atlantic salmon and now I eat all kinds of white fish too. I broil it with a bit of Herbamare for seasoning.

And I serve the fish sometimes with baked fries. Just cut up some potatoes (a couple of pounds) toss with a tbsp olive oil and bake until golden brown, turning them a couple of times when they are baking at 375 degrees. Serve with ketchup! Add your favorite veggies for a complete meal.

  glad you got out for a walk yesterday. it was a beautiful day and I also walked. The reason kids love fish sticks is because it is all breading and no fish. good luck with all your days positives. Have a great day
