To the future!!!!

Wednesday, March 27, 2013

True generosity toward the future consists in giving everything to the present. " Albert Camus

If you want to help save the planet for the next generation ,shut the lights when you leave the room, use less gas. Pick up the garbage on your walks. Try not to use plastic.

If you want to have a great retirement start now. Put some extra money in your 401k at work. Start saving at the bank . Forgo that Dunkin Donuts coffee everyday while you are working, make it at home. Put the money in the bank and when you retire you'll be able to go on a few more trips.

The best thing we can do for our childs or future generations is help them to learn how to be healthy. Take them with you when you run or bike or go to the gym. Yeah your times may be slower but they have a thing or two to show us about enthusiasm .If you don't have a child take a niece or nephew or a neighbor child.

Teach them how to eat and cook healthy. Get them to eat fruits and veggies as snacks .Teach them the hows and whys to good health. Make sure they drink more water than anything else. And set and stick to a proper bed time for them and you . Make sure they all get eight hours of sleep it is so important.

Teach them to be happy in the here and now. Show them how to be happy with what they have in life, to love the simple pleasures. Teach them to be kind, to hold doors , to put others first. Teach them to be generous and giving and courteous. To love with their whole being.

If we want the future to be grand and splendid and full of fun we need to start now.!!! I hope to see you all healthier and happier in the future.

Wonderful. This makes me want to go do something active with my little "niece" and "nephew". :) It is true. I need to be their roll model and motivation. Thanks for the reminder.

The federal government needs to read this blog; specifically the part about saving money! For some reason they think the way to get out of trillions of dollars worth of debt is to spend a trillion more dollars. And they are SUPPOSED to be our leaders and set good examples. Well!

Great blog, and I agree with you wholeheartedly. emoticon

I agree, we need to start now, and it is very important to teach our children these good habits and how to treat everyone with respect. emoticon

"Be here now" is the best way to be happy, I believe. So often we look at what needs to be done, or what could be done and forget to live in the now.

Thank you for the recent BLOG and sharing your talent with words.
I am going to save this and read it daily to keep myself centered on what is important.
Helping the planet is just one way of paying it forward to the next generation. I think not only doing this ourselves but helping others understand is a key to this being successful
I have a neighbor who was a school teacher and she began saving after her divorce for retirement. She put away ever cent monthly she did not need to keep the kids in food, clothing, and daily living supplies. She is now retired and i see her maybe 5 days a month. The rest of the time she is seeing the world by taking cruises.
I echo your comments on teaching the next generation how to eat healthy, stay active and cook at home. I started doing this 4 years ago with my son and now he reads store labels better and faster than I do. he makes food choices based on nutritional value of the food. which means for him and these are his choices not mine. no soda, no fried foods, limited refined sugar, no HFCS- corn syrup. natural fruit snacks not store made ones.
We also have a rule that you must have 1 fruit and 1 veggie per meal and it gets eaten first.
Sleep for my son is not a problem. He goes to bed at 8:10 pm and gets up at 5:30am. For me I am currently struggling due to my work schedule to get 7 hrs but working on that.
Being kind to others is a Work in progress.

Have a simply awesome day emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
