Really good book

Tuesday, March 26, 2013

I will admit, this book has nothing to do with weight or exercise - but I hate putting it down so I thought I would share. It is called "Praying for a Stranger" by River Jordan. I have never heard of this book but it leaped off the shelf at the library and now I am behind in everything because I am so enjoying reading. Many of you know that I pray with people on the streets, mostly homeless, and this book is so encouraging that it does make a difference. The stories she shares are fantastic - how surprised she was by the difference it can make to someone else when you offer to pray for them. Also the things God does - he is sooooo BIG! So I have a request today - would you please pray for me and my husband? A possible opportunity has come up exactly at the spot where we go to on the streets - if this is meant to be, we need to see God's hand in it so clearly that there can't be any room for doubt. We need our faith to grow along with the clear direction that this is what He would have...and then the courage to follow His leading. I thank Him already as I admit discouragement often is right around the corner - then He showed me a book on the shelf that has helped me get my eyes back on Him. I have not finished the book but I truly believe this book could change your life along with the lives of many others.

I'll have to check out that book.
You have my prayers that God will show you what he needs from you.

I have not read the book but I can attest to how people react when you ask them if there is something you can pray about for them. DH will ask a waitress when we go out to eat and they almost always look shocked at first. :-)

Praying for you and DH on your opportunity. May God bless you richly whatever His answer!

I prayed, using your words in the blog so I was sure to get the request "right". No matter what, doing the will of God will fill you with joy. I am happy that you are asking for clarity. I was taught that God does not want the "good" that he doesn't "will". Does that make sense?

Yes I will pray for you and your husband. Marriage is the first organization God ordained and needs to be strenghtened by prayer.

I must look into that book. Thanks emoticon

God truly desires our hearts...that we would trust Him and walk by faith. He provides opportunities. We have to choose to "walk through the door".

May you have His wisdom in knowing how and where to "walk"!
