Very Slow Weight Loss

Tuesday, March 26, 2013

I weighed in at TOPS tonight with a .2 pound loss. While I am very happy that I am headed in the right direction, I am a bit frustrated at the rate. I am tracking, sticking to my plan, watching the sodium and exercising as much as my knees can tolerate and losing so slowly that at my age (70) I will not make it to my goal before I croak.

Even at .2 pounds a week you'll get to goal in 2 years. Time DOES win.

i too weighted in at my tops meeting last nite with a loss of 1.75 lbs. it has been slow coming off over the years ( been a tops member since 05 and have lost 29.25 lbs. ) i recently went to the doctor for my welcome to medicare visit and she was happy that i'm still losing even if it is slowly but she asked a very important question for her. she asked if i felt good, healthy, could walk or climb stairs without getting winded and when i said yes, she told me that was the most important thing to her at my age. she did say it wouldn't hurt to continue to lose but if i felt healthy, she was happy.
but i'm also still marching forward and know that we can do this.

Slow and steady wins the race. Just keep trying. Do you take your measurements? Some times the inches fall away but the weight stays the same emoticon

I know it is frustrating when the scale doesn't move. It sounds like you are doing everything right so maybe you should look for some non-scale victories.
Are your clothes fitting better? emoticon

Slow and steady wins the race Gail! I lost very slowly; but this is the first time I've kept it off! My life changed along the way. Hang in there!

I know exactly what you mean...it is dicouraging but we need to keep marching ahead! There are days that I do everything right and the scale refuses to budge, so what I do now is resolve not to quit and carry on. There are other victories to celebrate on our journey than the number on the scale. If we just focus on the process, the goal will become attainable. Stay positive please!
