I am working on changing my down attitude. I've been trying to exercise more. I'm trying to get out of the house more. I'm visiting family and friends. I have gotten a couple books from the library that I started reading. I am hoping something works. I hope the weather breaks soon. The cold, gloomy days are not helping. I am still searching for new things to do. I've found a couple possibilities - just need some money to do some of them. I guess that's something else I can work on - my budget.

    As always, Patty, we are on parallel paths.
    So, what did you find as fun new possibilities to do... Maybe I could do them too. I'm only doing free things lately too. After we get into our house, I will have to budget and see if we are really going to be able to do this without an income (and for how long??)

    I have been reading like crazy, and enjoying lots of new authors....a lot of local authors... but I read Harlan Coben and John Lescroart this week too... quick, entertaining reads. And we watch movies as we don't subscribe to cable or satelitte tv. But dh downloads a couple of shows we watch, and so no time wasted on commercials or stuff like that. I also knitted 2 sweaters in the past couple weeks. And I have been cooking some nice meals... so, can't really say I am not keeping busy, but I guess I need to set some goals and redirect my energy...

    Those are all really good ideas - I'm glad you are trying them! It's always hardest to get out and not isolate when you're feeling down, but a lot of times it's the most helpful. emoticon emoticon

    Good for you Patty! The first Step is mind set! Sounds like your off to a good start. I have found that exercise helps to lift my spirits I agree with you on the weather. I have started my count down for April 19th as the campgrounds open and we can stay at the lake.seasonal camping helps me have something to look forward to and gets me though the winter better. I hope you have a wonderful week! emoticon
    I also love reading and playing games on face book Husband and I work different shifts so I have lots of time on my hands

    Working is always better than trying, so good for you for working on making improvements. Whenever I catch myself using the word "trying" I know I am giving myself excuses in advance, to fail. I am so glad you are not isolating and that you are giving yourself healthy distractions, like reading good books. I relate to you, Patty. I know that I feel worse if I wallow, or if I actively avoid dealing with my life and my responsibilities on a daily basis. I hope the weather cooperates for you - sunshine is always a mood booster, after a long hard winter. Take care. emoticon
