This week's challenge (food tracking) is always a rewarding one for me, and I'm always learning something new. I try to track my food regularly, but whenever I do it for the challenge, I realize just how many small bites I'm consuming. Those calories do add up. Now if only I could find a way to keep myself as particular when it is not challenge time?
This time I also learned a hard lesson about sugar! My whole family (besides me) had the stomach flu this past week. Sunday afternoon I had a very sugary coffee and then later a light dinner (since I was only cooking for myself). Later in the evening I all of a sudden felt super weak, and nauseous. I figured I was getting the same stomach bug, so I didn't eat anything else and went right to bed. Well....come to figure out in the morning, I was just having a blood sugar crash. I ate breakfast and started to feel better, but I guess since I waited so long I still didn't feel 100% until later that afternoon. Anyways, like I said, I'm always learning. I WON'T be doing that again! LESSON LEARNED!
