March 26th.

I have worked 6 days in a row, and was scheduled to work this morning too, but I just couldn't do it! I am exhausted! I asked a coworker if she could work for me this morning and she said she would! Thank God! I really don't think I could do one more day in a row!
One of my other coworkers was fired last week and it has been non stop work every since. It wouldn't be so bad if it was the same schedule 7 days in a row, but it is the morning shift one day, the evening shift, the next or the night shift all mixed up together. I got off at midnight last night and was supposed to come in at 6 this morning.
I was so thankful when she said she would do this shift for me!
I hope to catch up with my spark friends and teams later today, but for now, I am going back to bed:)

Suz, you know that the first person you must take care of is yourself. You cannot be your best for everyone - if you don't do what is best for you.

Take some time and rest. You so deserve it.
    Much love

I can't imagine how hard it must be not having a set schedule. It would be so much harder to keep good habits.

I'm glad you took the day off. WIZKEY is right, by law you should have a minimum of 8 hours between shifts. And even that 8 hours is not long enough in my opinion, when most people need 7-8 hours of sleep, then you have to factor in time to get ready and commute to work, and time to get home again.

I use to work in retail and those days I had less than 10 hours between shifts were really hard for me, even before I had cancer.

I hope you're sleeping soundly and are well rested by the time you read this. I also hope your schedule isn't normally like that!!

Suz - it is illegal for your workplace to schedule your shifts with less than an 8 hour rest in between. Glad you were able to give away your shift. Get some rest, girl!!

Wow that is hard on a body, switching shifts like that. I don't know the reason why that is happening at your work, but I hope it settles down. I'm not sure they can "make" you come back within 6 hours. Anyway glad you got a co-worker to help you out this morning. Take care of youself. emoticon
