I cannot believe that I haven't updated my blogs - reading several others made me remember that putting these feelings/actions into words always motivated me to keep going!
On February 15th, I walked my first 5K. The goal was to finish in an hour and to not be dead last. I did finish in 57 minutes and there were 5 people behind me that actually finished. Several others did not finish. My sweet husband was with me the entire time (as a surprise to me) and motivated me to the finish line. It was tougher than I thought it would be because I had not stuck with my training plan. Granted, I had unexpected business trips and a wonderful surprise visit from my daughter & granddaughter, but I didn't stick to the training and it made it harder.
So, that's one off of the bucket list. But, after that walk, I slacked off completely. Work has been extremely busy and I have had to work 12 - 15 hours a day, 6 and 7 days a week. It's finally eased up enough that I am able to work out in the mornings again.
I am back at it - religiously. And I now know that I have to figure out a way to work out whenever work gets crazy.
We are going to Walt Disney World in September and my husband has never been. I want to be able to keep up with him in the parks :) so I have that as my next big goal. I don't expect to lose all of my weight by then, but I do expect to have toned up a good bit and lost about 35-40 pounds (being conservative since losing it slowly seems to help it stay off).
