Still Around

So, I've been lurking for awhile. Still spinning that wheel for my SparkPoints daily, still tracking my weight and sometimes my food & exercise, but I haven't been active in the SP community for a good long time. It's probably time that I start up again. I've been maintaining this higher weight for about a year & it's driving me a little batty that I can't seem to drop it. I know that I struggle with it more now that I'm gluten-free, but I think I've figured out the best way around that (don't just substitute with gluten-free grains/products...actually cut back on grains).

I have gotten my weight down to ~185 lbs. So there's only 20 lbs to lose (yes, I said only...). My exercise level has picked up since moving to Santa Barbara as there's not much to do here, so I end up going on long runs or walks to fill my days (I did an accidental 7 miles Saturday morning...2 miles of running & 5 miles of walking). I also think I have the food down. Lots of salads (yes, I eat salad now! I lost 80 lbs never having touched a salad, but gaining back 20-30 lbs & being gluten-free changed all of that) & veggies & fruits with seafood & eggs & cheese & nuts & plant-based protein shakes thrown in there. I do have quinoa & rice & potatoes, etc, but I'd like to cut way back. I did a "No-Grain November" several months ago & that was the best I've felt in ages!

I think I just need the motivation to kinda stick with it and power through this plateau I seem to be stuck on. So, here's my first blog of 2013. I'm going to try to blog weekly like I used to & start keeping up with other people's blogs again.
